Caiman Vessel Sealing Technology by Aesculap

Vessel Sealing

Caiman is an easy to use, cost-effective vessel sealer that provides secure hemostasis for laparoscopic and open veterinary surgical procedures.

The instrument shaft is 5mm in diameter and comes in a variety of lengths.  The 24cm length is perfectly designed for both open and laparoscopic veterinary procedures.  This instrument has a seal length of 26.5mm with a large jaw aperture making it ideal for spay, splenectomy and pyometra and soft palate resection.

If your practice chooses to reprocess the instrument you will need low temperature gas sterilization, such as the Sterlink Gas Plasma Hydrogen Peroxide Sterilizer.

The Caiman 5 Vessel Sealer is designed for a variety of laparoscopic and open procedures and can accommodate a wide range of patient sizes.

Benefits

Longest Jaw
Caiman 5 has a 26.5 mm sealing length and the longest jaw of any 5 mm RF device available, allowing for heightened efficiency for laparoscopic procedures. The 26.5 mm jaw allows surgeons to seal and cut 30% more tissue at a time compared to other 5 mm vessel sealing devices.

Uniform Tissue Compression

Caiman Vessel Sealers feature a proprietary hinged jaw. The lower jaw hinge causes the tip of the instrument to close first, capturing tissue and preventing slippage. This unique design then allows the upper and lower jaws to compress tissue in parallel, creating uniform compression forces distal to proximal. The result is a secure and consistent seal surgeons can rely on.
