Endoscopy & Laparoscopy Tower Setup Guide

Summary

Check page two of your instructions whether you’re setting your system up as a laparoscopic system, you’ll want to measure your shelves from the base to the first shelf, then the second shelf, and then the third shelf. If setting up for a laparoscopic system and gastroscope system, you’ll want to measure your shelves.

Shelf Setup and Center Pole Assembly

Measure shelves according to your system configuration (laparoscopic only or combined laparoscopic/gastroscope). Use the center pole with a wheeled base, attaching shelves at specific heights: bottom shelf at 4 inches, second shelf at 18 inches, and top extension arm shelf at the very top.

Component Positioning

Install the CO2 tank holder down the back center column, position the gastroscope pole holder at the second shelf level, and secure the surge protector between the two posts using zip ties.

Triangular Base and Monitor Mount Assembly

Place the triangular base on top of the center pole and secure with bolts. Install the monitor mount with proper orientation (warding and monitor facing up), then position the monitor over the center pole and tighten.

Cable and Power Connections

Connect the DVI cable from the gastroscope to the monitor input. For combined systems, use DVI for laparoscopic/rigid scopes and HDMI for flexible scopes, which can be switched via the monitor’s input menu.

CO2 System Setup

Assemble the CO2 yoke and hose with a ring that fits Size E CO2 tanks. You’ll need two CO2 tanks on-site prior to training. Attach the CO2 insulator securely and position the tank in the back of the tower.

Equipment Shelf Order 

  1. CO2 insufflator (bottom shelf)
  2. Stryker camera box
  3. Light source
  4. Gastroscope system
  5. Vessel Sealer (top)

System Testing

When camera box is powered on, color bars should display on the monitor. Verify DVI input is selected in the menu settings. Once camera is connected, you should see a clear image. Check HDMI for gastroscope image.

At different heights and use your center pole, turn it upside down, and then you’ll use your base with the wheels. You’re looking for each of the holes that have a C, a C and a C next to it. You’ll use your biggest Allen wrench, you’ll use your biggest screws along with a washer, and then you’ll line up the holes.

With your screws almost all the way out. And loose, Jimmy them down the center pole to get your shelf into place. If you’re setting up your laparoscopic system and you’ve got the laparoscope as well as the gastroscope, you’ll want to position your bottom shelf at four inches up from the base and that’s all dictated in your user guide.

Your second shelf will go at about 18 inches up from the base and then your top extension arm shelf will go at the very top of the center column. This is your CO2 tank holder. You’ll place this down the back center column and just drop it all the way to the.

Tighten it up. You’ll take your gastroscope pole holder and rotate it down to about the level of your second shelf. And then the other one you’ll do the exact same thing with take your zip ties and to make them long enough just put it in gently like that and then you’re going to use these to hold down your surge protector. You’ve placed your surge protector in between the two posts. You’ve used your zip tie to be able to grab it.

And then that can strap around the top. Of your post. Take the triangular base and place it on the top of the center pole. You’ll take your remaining four bolts, screw them into the top with your largest Allen wrench. Center pole goes into the triangle and screws down. Small set screw on your small Allen wrench will go right into there to hold the black post sturdy.

You’ll take your cord holder and put it down the black center pole. You’ll take this ring and put your set screw into it with your smallest Allen wrench and then put that at about your. Butcher neckline. Take your center pole and slide it down into the two braces with the pole being up above your head.

You’ll take this and screw it into your monitor mount just loose. And that will stay. You got the two screws in the bottom of this plate and then the four center screws. Take your monitor mount and it will go over the other screws that are still remaining. Make sure your warding is facing up with this and your monitor is also facing up. I’ve used my back bracket to hold and control my screw. Place your monitor over the center pole down to your ring.

And then just tighten it up. Just a little bit. This is your gastroscope hook. When you put this together you’ll put the screws in there. And then the back side will have the screws to be able to tighten it down. And the scope hook will slide down your pole to about the height or a little higher than your monitor. 

Make sure your gastroscope hook is holding your gastroscope so that it’s positioned off the floor. And without too much tension on your gastroscope processor. For the first part of your power supply for your monitor, then loop this under here pull this up and then you’ll see a little notch right in here that goes to the power supply.

Use your DVI cable, the black one that came with the gastroscope and plug that into the DVI input there and just screw it tight. Back plate can go in and then the two remaining screws can go in there and setting up for the laparoscopy and endoscopy system use your reference guide so that you have pretty pictures of each component. You’ll put your CO2 insulator on the bottom. You’ll put your Stryker camera box on top of the CO2 insulator. You’ll put your light source next, then your gastroscope system, then your Voyant vessel sealer will go on the top.

If you’re setting up the laparoscopic system, this is your CO2 yoke and hose. You’ll want to make sure that you have a ring inside the yoke part that will fix to your size E CO2 tank and you’ll also want to make sure that you’ve ordered two CO2 tanks. You’ll absolutely have to have them in the hospital prior to your training. You can contact your air gas supplier to supply those CO2 tanks. You’ll want a pair of pliers or a wrench and that will screw on to there. This is your CO2 insulator that will screw tightly to there and give it a good snug screw down and then your CO2 tank will go in the back of your tower and sit there. When connecting your laparoscopic camera box, you’ll use the DVI cable and that will go into either of the back ports there and then up to the back of your monitor. If you have the laparoscopy and endoscopy system, all of your cords are interchangeable except your gastroscope. So I want to make sure you use this brick with your gastroscope that will plug into there and then attach to your surge protector.

If connecting your cables for the laparoscopy and endoscopy system, you want to use the cable that has a DVI on one end and an HDMI on the other end. You’ll want to plug the DVI in to the back of the gastroscope processor, not on the yellow, but on the other side, and then your DVI will go up to the back of your monitor. It’s been connected and you power it on.

If you see color bars, that means your camera is connected to your monitor and your monitor is set on DVI for your camera. You’ll take your laparoscopic camera with the arrows up and that will plug in the bare, your color bars will go away.

And then whatever you’re looking at is what your camera is looking at. To switch from your laparoscopic view to your endoscope PPU, hit the menu button. Input. You’re going to switch it from DVI with the down arrow to HDMI.

And hit OK. And then this is your flexible gastroscope image already on you. So you can switch back and forth between your two images by going to input and then it’s either DVI or HDMI DVI for laparoscopy or rigid scopes, HDMI for your flexible scopes.
