Equipment Overview
The USB scope comes with a user guide accessible via QR code and is compatible with both iPad and PC devices.
Initial Setup
- Download the USB App onto your iPad
- Warm up the scope before use
- Attach the light to the side of the scope and turn it on using the bottom button
- Use thread drops for holding the scope in place
Scope Adjustment & Calibration
- Focus using the dial to adjust in or out
- White balance the scope by viewing something white (paper or gauze) and pressing the AWB button
Image & Video Capture
- Tap the camera icon to take pictures
- Switch to video mode and press the red button to record
- All captured media is stored on your camera roll
Adapter Options for Different Procedures
Bifurcating Adapter – Allows IV fluid delivery during procedures; fluids exit through the distal end of the scope
Zam Sheath – Alternative adapter that locks in place; enables fluid delivery from IV bags with on/off controls
Rhinoscopy Setup – Uses an exam sheet for nasal procedures; includes a reducer cap to allow instrument insertion through the scope lumen for biopsies, polyp removal, or debris removal

Thank you for purchasing the VetOvation USB scope. We have a variety of different scope options. The one that I’m going to show you in the video today is the photo Rhino scope. It comes with a user guide. Please reference the QR code that’s on the bottom here to see this video, as well as other helpful hints and tips.
This can be used with either an iPad or a PC. The light screws onto the side of your scope and depressing on the bottom will turn your light on. You’ll want to download a USB app onto your iPad.
That is here. Once you’ve gone in and you start to look at something, I would first warm up my scope before going into the patient. You can either hold it with your hand or you can use a couple of drops of the thread that we sent with the scope.
To focus your scope, the dial here will focus you in or out. You’ll also want a white balance your scope by looking at something white like a piece of paper or a gauze and depressing the AWB button on the top.
You can now go in and start your exam if you want to take a picture, your camera icon is highlighted and then just tapping the icon will take a picture. If you want to switch over to taking video. Just tap the video and then depressing the red button will start to take your video.
Any pictures and video that you take throughout the exam will be stored on your camera roll. If you want to switch from the otoscope cone, you can have the bifurcating adapter go on the top that pinches there and screws on. You’ll want to use one of the caps that we sent you and then you can use an IV bag, the standard lure lock to be able to run fluids into your patient. You can turn those fluids on or off here.
Your grasper can go down through the other side with that cap on that’s going to force the fluids to go out through the distal end of your scope. If you want to switch from your otoscope cone you can use the Zam sheath that will go on here.
And this will lock into place. Now you can run fluids from an IV bag here turning that on or off on the sides, turn the opposite side off. If you’re going up a nose, you could use this exam sheet for a rhinoscopy.
Continue to run your fluids from the sides. Use the reducer cap here and then you can introduce your instrument through the lumen of your scope and into the patient to be able to place a biopsy, remove a polyp, or remove hair and debris.
